Historique :	L'intérêt de ce cartel est double : tout d'abord, il s'agit d'une pièce orléanaise. Le mouvement est dû à Pierre Musson, actif à Orléans, de 1738 à 1765. Ensuite, l'ornementation de la caisse en bronze ciselé représentant des rocailles, des fleurs et un paon sous le cadran est remarquable. Il est en outre égayé d'un décor charmant au vernis Martin, en particulier sur la console d'applique où l'on voit une poule et un renard au milieu de branches de rosier délicatement peintes.
