Historique :	Modèle des tours de la cathédrale d'Orléans exécuté dans l'orangerie du palais de Versailles de 1737 à 1740 d'après les plans de J. Gabriel premier architecte du roi. La menuiserie fût faite par l'échaudé menuisier du roi. Les huit statuettes en terre cuite et les bas-reliefs sur bois des trois portraits furent exécutés par Rousseau sculpteur du roi. Quatre statuettes ont disparu. Cette maquette fut installé dans le grand escalier du château de Versailles pour être présentée au roi puis transportée dans la cathédrale d'Orléans pour servir de modèle aux constructeurs.
